Leadership Coaching for School and District Leaders The Chief Child Advocate Model
Across the nation, school leaders face complex challenges including student safety, mental health concerns, and widening opportunity gaps. Schools need leaders who go beyond administration and serve as Chief Child Advocates—leaders who ensure that every decision prioritizes the well-being and success of children.

Dr. Bernard Gassaway offers a five-session leadership coaching series designed to strengthen the ability of superintendents, principals, and district leaders to lead through a child-centered leadership framework.

Chief Child Advocate Leadership Training Series
The Chief Child Advocate Leadership Training Series is a five-session professional learning experience designed to equip school and district leaders with the mindset, skills, and moral courage required to place children at the center of every decision.
Grounded in the Chief Child Advocate Leadership Framework, each session focuses on one of five essential leadership pillars:
Actualize – Leaders learn to see the truth by examining data, listening to student voice, and identifying where children are being underserved.
Deliberate – Leaders strengthen their ability to make ethical, courageous decisions that prioritize the well-being of students over convenience or politics.
Protect – Leaders develop systems and practices that ensure the physical, emotional, and academic safety of every child.
Respect – Leaders build trust and dignity across school communities through relationships, inclusion, and effective communication.
Empower – Leaders cultivate a culture of shared leadership by empowering students, staff, families, and community partners to advocate for children.
Each session combines reflection, real-world scenarios, and actionable strategies, resulting in leadership practices that promote equity, excellence, advocacy, and community impact.
